In the search for amazing new coffees, one of our coffee importers tasted coffee samples from 45 out of the 144 washing stations that exist in Burundi and came up with a few new coffees that were quite stunning. Burundi is an origin to watch!
Lot 5 is a rare gem of a coffee from the East African country of Burundi that shines with a nice heavy body, bright citrus-like acidity and sweet fruit notes. Our Burundi is a wonderful medium-roast.
This rare coffee is from the Kayanza region of Northwestern Burundi, south of Rwandan border. It was grown at 1760 - 1850 meters, washed and sun dried on African beds (raised drying tables.) .
This coffee was purchased from coffee farmers at well above the Fair Trade Minimum.
