Summer is here! We are happy to start our second season at the Wausau Farmer's Market on Saturday and Wednesday mornings. At the River Drive market we will be offering whole bean coffee, brewed coffee, local maple syrup, Bodum French Presses and other good stuff. Stop by and say hi if you are in the area. Inspired by the cooks or "cookies" at the logging camps that used to cover most of northern Wisconsin in the late 1800s and early 1900s, our new Daylight in the Swamp Breakfast Blend is a great way to wake up.
According to legend, "cookies" sent the lumberjacks out to work after breakfast by yelling "Daylight in the swamp!". This saying came from the idea that cutting the enormous white pines was literally letting daylight into the swamps.
Our Daylight Blend is medium roast with a balanced acidity, notes of dark chocolate, wine, oak, raisin, and has a nice smooth body.
Located just outside of Wausau, WI, New Roots Coffee Company roasts its coffees in a German-built Probat L-12 that roasts no more then 20 pounds at a time. Each batch is nurtured to the point at which it shines. We hope you enjoy it!
